FAQ
What video formats are supported?
MP4 is the safest choice and what we recommend. MOV files work as well. If your file is in a more unusual format, transcode it to MP4 before uploading.
How long does processing take?
Roughly 30 to 60 minutes for a one-hour stream. Two hours of footage takes around an hour and a half. The exact time varies with how much speech is in the video. You don't need to keep the page open. You'll get an email the moment your timeline is ready.
Can I undo a cut decision after I've made it?
Yes. Click any segment on the timeline and flip it back. Every decision is reversible right up until the moment you export, and even then you can re-export the same stream with a different set of decisions.
Is my footage stored securely?
Yes. Uploads go straight to encrypted cloud storage and stay private to your account.
Your original upload is kept for 7 days after processing, so you can re-export different cuts of the same stream during that window. After 7 days, the source video is removed and you would need to re-upload to create new edits.
Exported clips are available to download for 14 days after export.
What happens if I close the browser during processing?
Processing keeps running on our side regardless of whether your browser is open. You can close the tab, shut your laptop, do something else for an hour. When your timeline is ready, the email will land in your inbox and you can pick it up from there.
The upload itself is the one part that does need the page open. Once the file finishes transferring you're free to leave, but closing the tab while the upload is still in flight will interrupt it and you'll need to start over.
Does the editor cut my video automatically?
No, never. Your editor only marks up the timeline with suggestions: keep, cut, or your call. Nothing is removed from your video until you review the timeline yourself and explicitly hit export. The human always has the final say.
How do credits work?
You get free processing time that resets every 15 days. One credit hour equals one hour of uploaded stream, not how long processing takes. A one-hour stream uses one hour of credit regardless of processing time.
Need more? Buy credit packs from the Billing page in the app. Paid credits never expire.
Does anyone watch my video?
No. Your video is processed automatically. No human views your footage at any point. Source video is deleted 7 days after processing and exported clips are deleted 14 days after export.
What is badger cut?
Badger cut lets you mark moments for removal using your voice while you're streaming. Say "badger cut" followed by a number (5, 10, 15, 30, or 60) and that many seconds before the phrase get marked as a cut during processing. See the full guide for details.
